Green Build is the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. The green building community gathers to share ideals and mutual passion at Green build, sparking a continuous buzz throughout the week. Green build features three ground breaking days in which a few members of WECo attend. During those three days, our members listen to inspiring speakers, invaluable networking opportunities, industry showcases, LEED workshops and tours of the host city's green buildings.

Every year Wentworth Environmental Collaborative teams up with the other environmental clubs in the Colleges of The Fenway to celebrate Earth Day. This event allows students to communicate with other students from other colleges about the importance of preserving the environment.


The E-Bar is a social outdoor space where students can work, charge devices, and utilize the structure as a meeting place. It is the result of a year and half of Brainstorming and design backed back the COF Center for Sustainability mini-grant. The goal was to create a communal environment that allows student to both socialize and collaborate. The team sees the projects as a teachable structure inviting creativity and innovation to inspire other student projects. Ideally, the team would like to

WECo participated in a yearly event called Accepted Students. High School Seniors attend Accepted Students Day to get more information about Wentworth.

One of the objectives of Fresh Check Day is to give students ideas on how to better cope with their stress. WECo participated in this event by introducing Petal Power.

The Green Building Tour was an opportunity for the members of WECo to learn more about the green buildings that Wentworth has on campus. The tour helped members teach other people about sustainable features already incorporated in the newer campus building.

Students from the Wentworth Environmental Collaborative participated in a workshop in 2009 to fabricate solar panels from readily available materials, producing four 20-watt panels.

Garbology is an annual team building event where WECo shows the Wentworth Community how much reusable materials are wasted in the trash. The team gathers up trash all over campus and dumps it all in the middle of the campus. Volunteers from WECo sort out the trash between compostable items, recyclable item, and actual trash items. The goal of this is to reach out to the Wentworth community in order to show how much recyclable materials are wasted every day on campus.

A fun and engaging event for members of WECo to interact with the student body by spinning WECo's Energy Wheel of Fortune. Participants were able to earn prizessuch as LED light bulbs, energy saving power strips, and other fun giveaways.

The Muddy River Symposium is a collaboration of all the Environmental Groups in The Colleges of the Fenway. It is where all teams showcase their current sustainable and environmentally safe products.

The Restore Bin, found at Mass Art's school store, is a bin designed for reusable materials. Students drop off materials and items that they don't need and other students are allowed to take those items from the bin for their use.
